Local Businesses Celebrate Success
A number of local business people received certificates of achievement from the Vice-Chancellor at a presentation event recently.
These individuals had all participated on the Elevate project, a work based learning programme supported by the European Social Fund, through the Welsh Government, and is based at the School of Lifelong Learning.
Working in partnership with Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, the project has delivered a range of short, accredited courses to businesses across north Wales. The programme encourages professional development on all levels and the event was an opportunity to congratulate participants and celebrate the success of the project. Local business people were delighted to receive their certificate from the Vice-Chancellor who described Elevate as an “outstanding success”.
Sandra Begley, Academic Coordinator said: “What’s been so encouraging is that participants have clearly benefited from attending these courses. The vast majority have completed two or more courses and many of those attending have signed up for further learning including degree and master’s courses.”
Project Co-ordinator, Nia Morgan added: “Elevate has emphasised the appetite which exists for courses which combine academic rigour with practical application. We have been very fortunate to work with some talented tutors and Elevate has demonstrated the important role that the University plays in supporting the local business community.”
